Public Tours

WMBT-76-2546705050-OWest Michigan Beer Tours offer a variety of public tours. A typical public bus tour will last approximately 5 hours and transportation will be 29 person mini-coach buses. Most tours will include:

  • 3 Brewery Stops
  • Tour director knowledgeable in both the beer industry and our local area
  • Introduction to brewery owners and/or brewers
  • Tours of their facility
  • Sample at each brewery

West Michigan Beer Tours is dedicated to providing beer lovers with fun, flavorful and relaxing tours. We encourage every passenger to drink responsibly and have a designated driver. After each tour we will also provide access to a local taxi service. While we encourage everyone to purchase beer at the breweries to take with you, we do not allow any consumption on the buses. If any of our tour directors have reason to believe that a person is intoxicated prior to a tour, we reserve the right to turn them away. If a person is turned away due to intoxication no refund will be provided.

Unless a tour is cancelled all tours are non-refundable.

As part of our KalamaBrew membership, we are launching a series of events where the public shares a pint of Kalamazoo-area beer while learning more about a unique location.

For this event, guests will receive two pints of beer and a tour backstage of the historic Kalamazoo State Theatre.

Designed by renowned architect John Eberson and built by founder Colonel William Butterfield in 1927. The Kalamazoo State is one of the very few remaining atmospheric picture palaces intact. It currently serves as a performance hall for musicians, comedians, and other live entertainment in the Kalamazoo area.

The event will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2019.

In collaboration with Bell’s Brewery, this 90-minute event held at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe will do a deep dive into one of the world’s best beers: Two Hearted Ale.

Named the No. 1 beer in the world two years in a row by Zymurgy Magazine, Two Hearted is named after the Northern Michigan river. It’s also the flagship beer of Bell’s.

Guests will receive a pint of Two Hearted, appetizer buffet, a private Two Hearted presentation in the loft and a tour of the brewery where the beer’s legend grew.

Sometimes the development of popular beers are happy accidents.

Inspired by the untimely death of a friend and veteran, Ben Jones, the owners of Tibbs Brewing Co. created a beer to honor his life and raise money to donate in his name to veterans charitable organizations.

The beer quickly turned into a top-seller and for the Jones family, a small way to remember the significance of their loved one’s legacy.
