Artist Jon Reeves has called Kalamazoo home since 1989, when the Kalamazoo Civic theater hired him to be its youth theater technical director. When not building a show, he can be found making theatrical weapons and teaching actors how to fight with them. Having received a B.A. in technical design and production from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Reeves also work as a sculpture artist in my studio. My main medium is steel, but he also work with brass, copper, fabric, and lots of reclaimed throw-aways. The weapons and sculpture studio is named Combat Ready Art. I make a range of pieces, from large-scale sculptures to knives and barbecue tools.
