KALAMAZOO, MI — Old Burdick’s Bar & Grill will be tapping its last barrel of Bell’s Brewery Inc.’s popular Hopslam on Saturday and hold a prize-laden Oberon release party on Sunday.
Old Burdick’s General Manager Ryan Cunningham saved his last half-barrel of Hopslam, the winter seasonal double IPA, for the big weekend.
Cunningham said it will be tapped starting at 11 a.m. Saturday at Old Burdick’s, 100 W. Michigan Ave. It’s probably one of the last chances to get the beer on tap until next winter.
Starting at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Old Burdick’s, which boasts 48 taps, will shift gears to welcome the arrival of spring and the release of Bell’s Oberon, the seasonal wheat ale.
The bar will have slew of Bell’s-related prizes, including shirts, sunglasses, and umbrellas, Cunningham said.
Oberon will be tapped at midnight, when Old Burdick’s will also crown its King and Queen of Oberon.
