Kalamazoo Public Library, West Michigan Beer Tours share thirst for knowledge

Library card holders get a 5% discount on public tours through 2014-15

KALAMAZOO, MI ­­ Combining their shared thirst for knowledge, West Michigan Beer Tours and the
Kalamazoo Public Library are collaborating on a special discount for library card carriers as part of the library’s inaugural Booktoberfest. Celebrating Kalamazoo’s place as one of the top craft beer destinations in the country, the Kalamazoo Public Library’s Booktoberfest will offer a series of events beginning Sept. 16 and continuing through Oct 28. The series will include brewer meet­and­greets, beer discounts, discussions, readings, tastings and much more. Booktoberfest participants include: Tibbs Brewing Co., Arcadia Ales, Bell’s Brewery Inc., Gonzo’s BiggDogg Brewing Co., Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Kalamazoo and Rhino Media, among others. As part of the event, West Michigan Beer Tours will offer a 5% discount on all future public tours through 2015 to those presenting a valid Kalamazoo Public Library card.

Halloween Beer Tour, Oct. 24: Olde Peninsula Brewpub, Paw Paw Brewing Co., Psycho Ward/Nightmares and Old Mill Brewpub. Tickets, prior to Oct. 10, are $59 or $70 for premium (includes pint at Olde Peninsula and free T­shirt). Tickets after Oct. 10 are $65 and $75.
